Every year since 2001, the Domaine de Chaalis has hosted the Journées de la rose (Rose Days) on the second weekend in June, with a different theme. For three days, the event brings together lovers of the rose in all its forms.
More than 150 exhibitors from the four corners of France will be at Chaalis to showcase their trades, distil their advice and share their passion with a loyal and enthusiastic audience of visitors, be they amateurs, professionals or the simply curious.
Each edition is sponsored by a personality who, like Yann Arthus Bertrand for botany and the environment, Pierre Hermé for gastronomy, Hélène Carrère d'Encausse for literature or Stéphane Bern for heritage, embodies the wealth of varieties, uses and celebrations of the queen of flowers.

From Friday 6 to Sunday 8 June 2025 from 10am to 6pm
The theme of the 24th edition of the Journées de la rose is "The Rose and Colour", with historian Michel Pastoureau as patron.
If the rose is famous for its fragrance, it is also famous for its infinite palette of colours. Sometimes red, sometimes white, pink, orange, yellow, violet, even green or black, it can also be plain, two-tone, variegated or striped. As a specialist in colours, Michel Pastoureau, historian and correspondent of the Académie des inscriptions et belles-lettres, will help to shed light on this facet of the queen of flowers, revealing all the richness of its varieties, its uses and the traditions that surround it.
"Learn to think in colour and you'll see the world differently".
Michel Pastoureau, The little book of colours
