Art Weeks: "The early avant-gardes

One Thursday and one Friday a month at 2.30pm, the museums offer an introduction to art history. Through the collections, exhibitions and other themes, you'll learn how to read a work of art, recognise techniques and question genres and artistic trends. For this first lecture of the year, you'll be immersed in the history of the artistic avant-garde: from the cage of the Fauves to the obsession with movement, the lecture will evoke the artistic practices of the early 20th century.
