10 years of the Maison de la Pierre | Collégiale Notre-Dame du Montataire

As part of the Maison de la Pierre's 10th anniversary celebrations, Aquilon is offering you the chance to rediscover three remarkable stone buildings in our urban area throughout the year. 

The churches of Montataire, Villers-Saint-Paul and Saint-Leu-d'Esserent are among the finest examples of religious architecture in the Oise valley. As priories, parishes and collegiate churches, they did not all have the same function, which is illustrated by their specific architectural features. However, they all played a part in the flowering of Gothic architecture, of which our region is the cradle.

After a visit to the Abbey Church of Saint-Nicolas in Saint-Leu-d'Esserent, this (re)discovery of these three stone vessels with their atypical profiles and challenges continues with the splendid Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame du Mont in Montataire, and finishes on 3 November with a visit to the church in Villers-Saint-Paul.
