The festive season is upon us. So it's time to let yourself be carried away by the magic of the festive season and rediscover Chantilly in its most enchanting light. Chantilly is getting ready to offer a whole host of festivities and events for all Cantilians: a huge Christmas tree, illuminations, a lantern walk, a Christmas market, a procession, a merry-go-round, shows, music, creative workshops, storytelling... there's no shortage of them!
The countdown has begun!

Wednesday 27 and Saturday 30 November:
Come and decorate the windows of the multimedia library for Christmas! To create a beautiful Christmas decoration on the theme of winter, the librarians are calling on your creativity and inviting you to come and draw on the outside windows of the multimedia library. Free for all ages 6 and up, with registration on 03 44 57 20 56. From 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm on Wednesdays, from 10am to 12pm on Saturdays.

Saturday 30 November :
- 11am to 2pm: Advent market from the Saint-Louis school to the Avenue du Bouteiller school
- 10am to 5pm: St Peter's Christmas Fair at Espace Bouteiller
- 5.30pm: Lantern walk. Departure from the Paul Cézanne school, arrival at Place Omer Vallon. Follow the Tornado procession with artists from the Compagnie Elixir to the big Christmas tree in Place Omer Vallon (lighting up at 6.15pm). On arrival, mulled wine and chocolate offered by the Comité des Fêtes. Lanterns on sale at Place Omer Vallon from 3.30pm and at Paul Cézanne School from 4.30pm.

Sunday 1 to Tuesday 24 December:
- 5.15pm: Advent calendar in the town hall courtyard. Every day, you can win a gift from your local shopkeepers!
- Santa's letterbox in the town hall courtyard. Father Christmas will be answering the letters of all the little Cantiliens.

Monday 2 to Friday 6 December:
Toy drive: The town, in partnership with the Red Cross, is organising a large toy drive. They must be clean and in good condition; they will be distributed to the beneficiary families. Drop off your games, toys and Christmas decorations at your child's school.

Tuesday 3 to Monday 23 December:
- Wish tree at the Médiathèque: According to Indian legend, the wish tree has the magical power to grant wishes. Come and hang your wish on this magical tree! Material available at the library during opening hours.
- Drawing competition on the theme "My beautiful Christmas tree": 10 drawings will be awarded. Children up to the age of 12, drawings to be handed in at the Médiathèque during opening hours (please include the child's surname, first name and parents' telephone numbers), one winner per family.

Tuesday 3 to Saturday 21 December:
- At 5.30pm Meet "Dans la hotte des bibliothécaires, il y a ..." at the Médiathèque. Every day at 5.30pm, the librarians prepare a surprise for you: Christmas stories, games, songs, creative mini-workshops... Meet us by the book fireplace. All participants will be entered in a draw to win some Christmas candy! All ages 3 and up, free admission

4, 11, 18 and 21 December:
- Boîte à friandises" creative workshops led by librarians, open to all ages 6 and upwards, free of charge, registration required on 03 44 57 20 56.

- 4pm: Storytelling show "The Snow Queen" in the Salle Molière at the Centre Culturel by Anne-Claire Rossignol. Think you know everything about the Snow Queen? Did you know that she's not the heroine of Andersen's fairy tale? But no, this is a story about the devil's mirror, two teenagers in love, and a tireless quest to reach the Queen's icy world... Come and experience the thrill, the change of scenery and the emotion of listening to the true story of the Snow Queen. Ages 7 and up, duration: 1 hour, free, registration on 03 44 57 20 56
- 5pm: Christmas concert by the Orchestre de l'Harmonie Municipale in aid of the Telethon at the Espace Bouteiller.

7, 10, 12, 20, 26 and 30 December:
Race meetings - Hippodrome - Come and enjoy the last few days of racing! Prices: €3 for adults, free for under-12s in advance on the website.

Wednesday 11 December :
- 4pm: Christmas party for children from the Verdun, Bois Saint-Denis and rue Victor Hugo neighbourhoods. At the Salle La Voie des Courses, avenue de Sylvie. Balloon sculptor and snack for the children.

From Friday 13 December to Sunday 5 January:
- La Belle Époque" carousel, place Omer Vallon. Open daily from 10.30am to 12.30pm and from 2pm to 7pm. Closed at 6pm on 24 December, reopening at 2pm on 25 December, closed at 6pm on 31 December, reopening at 2pm on 1 December. Free admission.

Saturday 14 December :
- 11am Gospel Choir & Chorus United, Place Omer Vallon. Gospel and contemporary carols.
- At 4.30pm and 5.30pm: Storytelling show "Rouge Gorge", Salle Molière at the Centre Culturel. By Léa Pellarin. Winter arrives, laying its great white robe on the earth. Little lights come on. Men and women warm themselves around the fire and tell stories. The story of a bird that brought fire to the world, the story of a little girl who ventured into the forest without fear. And the whiteness of the snow is intertwined with a red thread. The red of a bird, the red of a little knitting, the red of a little flame that warms the cold winter nights. It all starts with a big dress. Hidden in the petticoat, sleeves and waistband are the stories. The visual intertwines with the spoken word, and the spoken word with the visual. Puppets, finger plays, traditional tales, objects, music and songs follow one another and respond to one another. Session at 4.30pm for 6 months-3 year olds and one session at 5.30pm for 3-5 year olds, duration: 35 minutes, free of charge, with registration on 03 44 57 20 56.
- 6.30pm: Musical warm-up, École Paul Cézanne. Come and warm up before the "La Cantilienne" race. Free entertainment

- Telethon 2024: A piggy bank will be available at the start of the race.

Saturday 14 to Tuesday 24 December:
- Christmas madness! Christmas Escape Game in the town centre. A slightly clumsy Christmas tree has brought all the magic of Christmas to a screeching halt with its tinsel... Whether it's making presents, preparing a snack for Santa's round or giving Rudolph a makeover, everything has come to a standstill. Head to the North Pole and help the tree save Christmas this year! Dive into a magical adventure full of challenges to get everything ready in time.
Each zone has its own play elements. In pairs or in teams, everyone can play! Each team will need to collect a game booklet from the town hall or the media library during opening hours. There are only 45 booklets available. Starting point: Media library.

Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 December:
- 10am to 6pm: Inner Wheel Christmas market Espace Bouteiller. The Chantilly Inner Wheel Club is holding its traditional Christmas market, in aid of good causes. You'll be able to find Christmas decorations and lots of gift ideas to treat yourself or to give as a present, while doing a good deed. Admission is free.
- 2.30pm to 4.30pm: Donkey rides with Ânes Victoires. Petite Pelouse. Free entertainment

Sunday 15 December :
- At 3pm and 6pm "Grand pianist and young talent" concert at the Salle du Jeu de Paume

From Friday 20 December to Sunday 5 January:
- Every day from 10am to 12pm and from 2pm to 7pm: Come and skate on the Place Omer Vallon! The municipality invites young and old to enjoy the joys of skating in a festive atmosphere!
Alongside the emblematic carousel that takes pride of place on the square every winter, an ice rink will be installed for the festive season. Around the ice rink, a food-truck will be serving delicious crêpes in the afternoon. Closing at 6pm on 24 and 31 December, closed on 25 December and 1 January. Free, children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult.

Friday 20 December :
- 7pm "Voyages d'hiver" concert, Christmas carols from around the world a capella by the ensemble "Les Itinérantes" in the Chapelle Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, Fondation Condé.

Saturday 21 December :
- 2.30pm to 4.30pm: Donkey rides with Ânes Victoires in the courtyard of the Médiathèque. Free entertainment
- 4pm to 5.30pm Batucada "Lézard Tape" in Place Omer Vallon. Discover the "Lézard Tape" batucada, whose Brazilian, Afro and contemporary rhythms will transport you into an energetic and festive atmosphere. Free entertainment

Sunday 22 December :
- 2.30pm to 4.30pm: Donkey rides with Ânes Victoires in the courtyard of the Médiathèque. Free entertainment.

9am to 12pm: Gourmet break at the Chantilly market The Chantilly allotment gardens, Happy Culture Chantilly and Josiane and Joseph will be delighted to welcome you to taste their home-made cakes, home-made soup, crêpes and hot drinks, either on the spot or to take away, all in aid of the Telethon. You can also take part in the raffle for a chance to win a vintage Peugeot bike fully repaired by Joseph.
