From 21 September to 23 February

The Musée de la dentelle in Chantilly is hosting a retrospective on the forty-year whimsical career of Fifi Chachnil, stylist, lingerie designer and singer...

The exhibition "Le fil de l'histoire" highlights the colourful life and work of Fifi Chachnil, who has been adding salt and wit to the finery and lingerie of her contemporaries for four decades. Lingerie pieces, photographs, costumes, videos, music videos... Nearly sixty works make up the corpus of this exhibition devoted to this "tralalas merchant" whose mischievous bras and silk panties allow women to play in a joyful and uninhibited way, with a femininity that has the intelligence of its lightness.

Organised into three universes, the exhibition begins in a room dedicated to stripping, illustrated by photographs by Ellen von Unwerth.

Lace, nighties and pin-up frills are unveiled in a second room, accompanied by photographs by Charles Petit, while a third space presents costumes and lighting effects created by Fifi Chachnil for music videos and photographs by the artists Pierre & Gilles.

A story sewn with fantasy.

Exhibition produced in partnership with Galerie Templon (Paris - Brussels - New York) and Scène nationale 61.
