Expo | Transversales, les liens entre l’art et le football

L'exposition « Transversales – Art et Foot » est le fruit d'une résidence d'artiste qui à débuté en janvier 2024 à l’Espace Matisse, elle est visible au sein de sa galerie du 25 mai au 6 septembre 2024, en parallèle des Jeux Olympiques.

In exploring the relationship between art and football, Théo Varé and Nicolas Milon-Domecyn seek to examine the tension between thought and gesture, the path of the artistic act and the game, of mind and body in space. Football, like art, is a medium of physical and mental expression, sharing concepts such as performance, commitment and emotional impact.

The two artists see football as a social science in its own right, an expression of the self in the same way as art. They explore the similarities between patterns of play and artistic movements, emphasising that both mediums are products of the interiority and imagination of individuals in their respective societies and eras.
