12 November

Meeting with Olivier Guez to discuss his novel "Mésopotamia", published by Grasset, on Tuesday 12 November at 6.30pm. Conference in the Salle Jacques Joly, 1 rue Bellon, Senlis.

Born in 1868 into a wealthy family, Gertrude Bell became the most influential woman in the British Empire in the early 1920s. An explorer, archaeologist, writer and spy, she embodied a form of heroism driven by her love of the Orient, emancipation and international diplomacy. The author recounts her misadventures and does justice to this powerful woman.
