Berges du Thérain à Montataire

Paths have been laid out for pedestrians and cyclists along the banks of the "Thérain" river, crossing the town and linking the Les Forges roundabout to the Prieuré park. This pleasant walking area, with free access all year round, allows us to discover varied spaces, sometimes wild, sometimes playful with a children's play area on rue Ambroise Croizat, or sometimes sporty as along rue André Ginisti where the Canoe-Kayak club of Montataire has fitted out doors for kayaking. This club also offers canoe-kayak hire for the day or half-day to discover the beauty of the banks of the Thérain further upstream from Mouy or Cirès-les-Mello. Despite its rather urban environment, the paths along the banks of the Thérain allow us to find ourselves in a natural space a few steps from the city center. To eat at the water's edge, you can picnic on the tables and benches set up on Avenue de la Liberation or enjoy the good cuisine of the restaurant L'Eden on rue André Ginisti, at the entrance to the Prieuré urban park.
For a longer hike or bike ride, you can continue the walk by taking the cycle path towards Magenta or take the dirt road from the urban park that leads to the woods between Thiverny and Cramoisy.
