In the heart of Chantilly, in a historic 3-hectare park classified as a Remarkable Garden, the Potager des Princes is made up of a flowery vegetable garden and a symphony of 25 different gardens. It is also an animal park, a real paradise for families.
A collection of parakeets, pheasants, peacocks and dwarf hens populate the living museum of the barnyard, as well as dwarf goats and sheep.
A Japanese kitchen garden unique in France! This newly-created Japanese garden is the most diverse in France in terms of the species of Japanese plants and trees present in a single location. The garden and vegetable patch cover more than a hectare of land, centred around a pond over which a traditional Japanese bridge passes. Nearly 450 species of Japanese perennials have been planted, as well as more than 720 shrubs, making a total of more than 1,000 new plantings.
During the walk, visitors can stroll along slate 'Japanese steps' on the edge of a waterfall, admire a Japanese farmyard, cross a bamboo labyrinth, contemplate a Zen garden (often found at the heart of Zen temples, made up of rocks and wave patterns created with a rake on the sand) and above all discover France's first Japanese vegetable garden with 20 symbolic plants.
