Chantilly lace: a fine and delicate black silk lace decorated with flowers. If in the 19th century this luxury finery, made by hand and bobbin, made the reputation of Chantilly in the four corners of Europe, the mechanization coming from England led to its fall and its disappearance.

The Lace Museum has a magnificent collection of Chantilly lace made up of shawls, fans, umbrellas, dresses...

A lecturer and a lacemaker invite you to discover the whole world of lace, from the different techniques, to the production process, through the key characters, the specificities of Chantilly and other anecdotes on the art of women's costume in the 19th century. century.
