The Château de Chantilly is one of the jewels of French heritage. It is also the work of a man with an exceptional destiny: Henri d'Orléans, Duke of Aumale, son of the last French king, Louis-Philippe. This prince, considered the greatest collector of his time, made Chantilly the setting for his countless masterpieces and precious manuscripts. The château has survived the centuries, as the Duc d'Aumale bequeathed it to the Institut de France in 1886, the perfect opportunity to take a trip back in time in the heart of a princely residence. In homage to his illustrious predecessors, the Princes of Condé, the Duc d'Aumale called this ensemble the "Condé Museum".
Many rooms are open to visit:
- The painting galleries: The Condé Museum, The Santuario, The Tribune, The Clouet Cabinet, The Giotto Cabinet, The Psyche Gallery and The Deer Gallery.
- The Apartments : The large flats with La Grande Singerie, the Galerie des Batailles, the Chambre de M. le Prince, the Grand Cabinet d'Angle, the Salon de Musique, the Antechamber, the Salle des Gardes and the private flats of the Duke and Duchess.
- The Cabinet des Livres In the heart of the Château de Chantilly, extend your visit by discovering the park: "an exceptional panorama of the art of western gardening designed by André Le Nôtre"; and by visiting the Grandes Écuries, which houses the Horse Museum and the famous equestrian shows devoted to the art of high school dressage.
