Discover the ice houses! The Grande glacière (large ice house) at the Château de Chantilly has been a listed historic monument since 1988. It is located on the edge of the forest, opposite the entrance to the Château, on the Carrefour des Lions. It measures 9.25 m in diameter and is 11 m deep, with a capacity of 600 tonnes of ice. It was one of the four ice houses at the Château de Chantilly! You can visit it on a guided tour according to the calendar. The medium-sized ice house and the small ice house: These are still located in the château grounds, but are not open to the public.

The fourth cooler is located in the town of Vineuil Saint Firmin and is open during European Heritage Days.
